Some time back I entered a competiton to win a skin peel from Skinsation and to my surprise, I actually won! I had never had a skin peel done before as I didn't really have an interest in skin care. I do suffer from mild acne and sensitivity but as long as my face was clear I was happy because I wasn't equipped with the knowledge of skincare and the importance of a daily routine, until I had the peel done.
I met with Lutfiya Ally from Skinsation last week to have the treatment. I was unaware of what exactly I was undergoing but she explained each step in detail, putting my mind at ease about the side -effects which surprisingly, were minimal. It's been almost a week after and my skin feels great and looks brighter. The peel did however, bring underlying pimples to the surface ( due to my sensitive and problematic skin) but it reduced the redness and itchiness tremendously. I've already noticed a difference in my complexion, which is brighter and smoother due to the post - treatment care.
What is the peel about?
Skinsation stocks a full range of Dermalogica products which is one of the leading skincare treatments, especially for problem skin. They have recently launched the NEW Biosurface Peel which is a powerful skin resurfacing system. It helps reduce breakouts, pigmentation, and signs of premature aging to reveal smoother, brighter skin.
How does it work?
The Biosurface Peel is designed to work with the skin's chemistry. It safely removes dull outer layers of skin and helps the skin underneath to regenerate for better health and radiance.
Since undergoing the treatment I have decided to take an interest in my skin to protect and prolong the aging process. I strongly recommend this peel especially to those who suffer with acne or sensitivity.

Beauty Secrets: Rain Africa Wild Cotton Range
Rain Africa is truly one of my favourite beauty brands. I received the Wild Cotton body cream as a gift and all I can say is I am absolutely enthralled by the scent. Rain's Wild Cotton range is primarily made up of three main ingredients - organic marula oil, shea butter and sweet almond oil. Marula oil has been dubbed the new "miracle oil" in the cosmetic industry as due to it's high anti-oxidant levels. It is easily absorbed and hydrating, leaving the skin feeling soft and revitalised. Shea butter is included for its anti - inflammatory properties. Rich in vitamins A, E and F, this butter replenishes the skin whilst acting as a natural sunscreen. Almond oil is known to improve complexion and soften the skin.
The Wild Cotton scent is totally my new scent, I love how delicately the body cream's scent lingers and the luxurious feel and at R99, it's affordable luxury in a jar!

The Mora Ammo New Store and Collection Launch
I recently attended the Mora Ammo launch owned by Mohammed Amod, who is not only a relative but also a close friend. I’m so proud of him as this is the second anniversary of Mora Ammo. The launch featured his latest collection which is hand picked by Mohammed himself. It takes a lot to please women, and he has exceptional taste when it comes to selecting garments for a wide variety of customers. I myself have bought at least 5 evening dresses in the past two years from him and I can’t complain as I am the type of person who prefers to know what im getting. His dresses have a custom – made fit at an affordable price.
Guests were welcomed with cocktails, canapés and a death by chocolate fountain. The store is classy and fabulous, as every woman should be. It epitomizes glamour, especially with the statement Roberto Cavalli wallpaper. Live models showcased the collection, creating authentic visuals of the flow and fit of the garments.
The dress code was Tres Chic so I chose to wear black because nothing says chic like a little black dress. I wore a River Island midi dress with orange and black Zara heels (because orange is the new black). My hair was done by another close friend of mine, Sawleha, we kept it simple with loose curls, perfect for Durban's humidity.
Apart from the fabulous frocks, We mingled, ate the morish treats and took a million selfies – all the ingredients for a successful launch and I walked away with my 6th dress which was an absolute hit!

I'm Baaack
I've been out of action for the past two months and boy have I missed my blog! I started this blog as a form of self - expression, a creative outlet and also to prove to myself and a few others that I would not lose interest after a couple months. Maintaining the blog is not easy for me as my work schedule is always hectic - honestly, I think I create work for myself, but somehow I've managed to fit it in. I've planned a wedding, worked two jobs and attended three weddings (the weekday functions included) in the past two months hence my absence. But I'm back and here to stay.... :)
