Volo Pop - Up Boutique

Last week I attended the launch for the hottest new pop-up boutique to hit our shores, Volo, which means to desire in Latin, is the brainchild of the fashion - forward duo Nabila Rajab and Aadilah Kathrada, whom I happen to know personally (can I just say that there couldn't be a better team behind the brand). The brand hopes to provide fashionistas with the latest looks from the trendiest fashion houses starting with an exclusive range from River Island. Us gals were treated to the latest in fashion trends at the Hotel On The Park. I had such fun tasting all the delectable treats whilst looking for the perfect something to purchase.

The range was perfect for all types of girls, whether you're looking for a little black dress or a chic leather jacket to cover up this winter, they had it all. I picked up a fabulous white on white beaded jacket which I loved so much, I wore it out the store. I'm quite chuffed about this new boutique as they bring individual pieces so I never have to worry about clashing.

If you missed the launch of the boutique, don't despair, there will another new exquisite range gracing our shores soon. Follow @voloboutique on Instagram for more updates.

  1. I was left extremely disappointed with this much anticipated event!
I tried to make it there early enough to get a good chance at viewing the items, alas at 1pm (a mere half hour after the event was scheduled to begin) many of the items were supposedly already sold.
I wasn't welcomed warmly or made to feel like my business was worth their while.
As someone who constantly keeps up with trends online, I noted that I had seen many of these river island items on their website a while back. Understandably there will be some lag and delay, but I don't want to be paying top dollar for old items (which were probably on sale in RI stores).
On the upside, the venue was really nicely done and and the treats on offer looked quite good

  2. i agree it was a total disappointment, this should not have be showcased as a fashion boutique clearly range assortment needs lots of attention this should of been at the i-heart market or essenwood market as this old stock of river island is very last season, these girls clearly need to stick to just hosting tea parties, i wonder what river island head office has to say about you'll promoting their brand in such an unprofessional way? ATTENTION to girls out the if you are in need of the latest trends all major branded stores out there deliver worldwide including river island and most of these items at this sad excuse of a pop of store was available online on sale, so please do yourself a favor and save your money and fashion sense from a hot mess!

  3. I'm not sure if it's legal to even sell such hideous items?

  4. Salaams Zaida. Your River Island throw over is stunning!
While I don't agree with the nasty manner in which the above posters were commenting, I must admit that I agree with the fact that the pop up store was rather unorganized, advertised and sold out of season items and lacked a sense of co-ordination. What surprised me even more was the stand-offish, curt manner in which the host behaved. She was unfriendly, unwelcoming and unattentive.

In terms of purchases, the items were quite overpriced and sizes were limited. Overall, a greater attention to customers, a warmer host and a few cosy touches here and there would've made my comment different.

  5. I agree with the above comments. Besides not being welcomed by the host, she paid more attention to the pay she people she knew. It seemed like its time pass kind of event witj those who have oodles of money to spend. I may not know the person hosting it but she needs to sharpen her skills if she wants business, and favoritism isnt going to get her far.

  7. Hi Zaida lovely post and stunning pictures. The event firstly was held at an appropriate venue that showcased the stock well. Much attention to detail was paid to each aspect from the lovely treats to the carrier bags you received with your purchase. My understanding of a pop up shop is to test the market thus generally customers are meant to get a taste for the brand and if there is much interest more stock is brought in. The host provided the taste test needed that left me wanting more.
